Visions and Values
What are we trying to do?
We want every child to know what behaviour is expected of them while they are part of Carterton School.
We want every child to know exactly what will happen when they do something wrong.
We want parents to be aware of expected behaviour and what will happen if behaviour is not acceptable.
We want a consistent, firm and fair policy.
Rationale
Children and teachers have a right to enjoy their days at school and learn in a safe, secure and happy environment.
Children will learn best in an environment which is positive, warm, open, encouraging and non-threatening.
Children, staff and parents need to be responsible for each other, their school, their property and their environment.
Pupils have a right to expect firm, fair and consistent treatment from school staff.
School staff have the right to expect and obtain standards of appropriate
behaviour from pupils.
Staff and pupils have the right to have such expectations supported by the principal, parents, Board of Trustees, and colleagues.
