Carterton School

School Rules

The Carterton School Rules can be found in the Policy Section.

Actions Taken When There is Unacceptable Behaviour
The school endeavours to assist the child and parents/caregivers wherever possible. Counselling and warnings about unacceptable behaviour will be offered and Detentions can be given. Serious breaches will be recorded by the school. Parents will be informed. Persistent offending could result in suspension from school as a last resort.

The school operates a detention system where children may be required to do extra work up until 3.30 pm. Parents are contacted prior to the afternoon the detention is set down for.

The school also has a comprehensive policy on discipline matters and the “Values and Behaviour Booklet” covers all aspects of discipline in the school. We're currently putting that booklet on our website, and much of the content can be found in the Policy Section and in the Vision and Values section.

Cellphones
These are not to be used at school and must be handed to the teacher at the beginning of the day and will be returned at 3.00 pm.
