BOT nominations are due in soon. Have you thought about becoming a member of the Carterton school Board of Trustees?

Training is provided and existing BOT members will provide support for new trustees. If you have skills or an interest in any of these areas do think about joining the Carterton School BOT team.

We wish you all a very safe and happy holiday.
School finishes at normal time on Thursday this week. Term 2 starts 8.55 am Monday 19 April.

Several of us are attending some National Standards sessions over the next few days to try to find out more about how the standards tie into our work. We are still concerned that the standards alone will not lead to improved student achievement (which is the reason given for their introduction). This year we are collecting a wide range of evidence of your children’s achievement (so we can compare how they are doing to how students in the rest of the NZ are doing). Teachers are putting a lot of time and effort into analysing the data collected so that classroom programmes are meeting the needs of your children. Ask us about what we are doing!
