Carterton School

Values and Virtues at Carterton School.

The school has a simple programme where values/virtues are selected for a school wide focus over a set period of time. The teachers will discuss the value/virtue in class and during this period of time children will pay special attention to it. They will think about it. They will endeavour to put in into practice. They will endeavour to “live” the value/virtue.

There are direct links to the Social Studies and Health and Physical Education programmes. Children are encouraged to reflect on their own attitudes and behaviours in class regarding stereotypes and discrimination. Children can take active steps to make the school a more caring place for everyone.
