WHAT IS CARTERTON KIDS?
At the start of 2023, Carterton School saw that there is a need for families in our school community to have some care available while the working day finishes. Carterton Kids was established to support our working whānau and we are happy to be able to continue to offer the high quality care at an affordable price in 2024!
This year, we have welcomed our new Carterton Kids Coordinator Kerry Rice. Kerry is also part of our administration team. Kerry has big ideas for Carterton Kids involving more fun activities, crafts, action stations and is looking forward to getting to know you and your tamariki this year. Kerry will be supported by some other familiar faces including Hirini and Lisa.
We are also on the lookout for a responsible and keen Year 8 student at Carterton School to help on some afternoons - if this sounds like your child, get in touch via cartertonkids@carterton.school.nz
KEY INFORMATION:
Care is Monday to Friday, from 3pm to 6pm (Monday - Thursday) and 3-4.30pm Friday, mostly based in Room 12 but other parts of the school grounds are also utilised.
It costs $20.00 per day, per child. There is a discount of $5.00 for each additional sibling.
For example: A family of three would be priced as Peter Smith $20.00 from 3pm-5.30pm, Mary Smith $15.00 from 3pm-5.30pm and Hamish Smith $15.00 from 3pm-5.30pm.A smaller fee of $10 is charged for children in care for 1 hour or less (3pm-4pm). You will not be charged for booked days not attended as long as prior notice is given (by 12pm that day).
You will be invoiced weekly by the following Tuesday, with the invoice being sent to the primary carers email address. If you want to set up a regular payment this is fine too.
We are happy to take children on a casual basis as well as long as there is space on the days.

Note: Any day school is closed or there is a half day, there will be NO After School Care.
