Team Kōwhai
Years 4, 5 & 6

The structure of 'Middle School':

This year Team Kōwhai is operating as a Team Hub. Each class is considered a ‘Home Room’ which is a mix of Year 4 and 5 students either Room 8 or Room 9. Classes operate as a ‘Learning Hub’ where students will be assigned different rooms for their core subjects of reading, writing, and maths. At times, the Hub divides into year groups, gender groups, and other groups, depending on what is being learnt at the time.
Other times, operating as one large group - with all teaching staff together.

Creating independent and life-long learners:

Team Kōwhai aims to prepare children to be more independent and active learners and encourages positive social skills through exciting, structured and stimulating learning experiences. Team Kōwhai has an experienced teaching team who use a variety of learning tools that engage our students through Digital Learning, Growth Mindset and our School Values to prepare all our students to become positive role models in the senior hub.
